We designed the approach from the entrance to the interior of Matsuno Sushi, a sushi restaurant located in Omori Kaigan, Tokyo.

The existing passage from the street to the restaurant had previously functioned simply as a route through the site. We reconsidered this sequence with a focus on heightening anticipation and setting the mood before the meal, reorganizing the circulation and the way the spaces gradually reveal themselves.

A narrow alley-like approach was introduced between the entrance and the restaurant. Guests proceed toward the signboard, pass beneath the noren curtain, and arrive at a newly redesigned garden beyond. Along the garden, we added a counter, display spaces, and a sheltered area beneath the eaves. By moving through these successive spaces before entering the restaurant, the arrival becomes a richer and more layered experience.

While the interior of the restaurant itself was left untouched, the redesigned approach creates a growing sense of anticipation and discovery, transforming the journey to the dining space into an integral part of the experience.

大森海岸にある鮨屋、松乃鮨のエントランスから店内へのアプローチをデザインした。

道路から通り抜けるだけになっていた入口から店舗までの通路のあり方を見直し、食事までの期待感や気分を高めていくことをにフォーカスし全体の動線や見せ方を構成し直した。

入口から店舗までの間に路地を設け、その間を通り抜けてくる。看板を正面にし、暖簾をくぐりその先に広がる庭を作り替えた。また庭に面した部分にカウンターや展示スペース、軒下の空間などを設けその場所を通り店に入る事で、お客様の入口から店舗に入るまでの体験を豊かにしています。

今回、店舗内は手をつけていないが、店に入るまでの期待感や驚きを膨らませている。
